Hob nob biscuits recipe
"When I bought a packet of HobNobs in the supermarket, I thought it would be great if I could actually make them myself. So here’s my recipe – I have to admit I think my biscuits blow the shop-bought ones out of the water. Once you’ve tried them you won’t go back."

- 1 tbsp golden syrup
- 1 tbsp hot water
- 0.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Step-by-step
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F or gas mark 4. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
- Mix the flour, oats and sugar together.
- Melt the butter, syrup and water together in a pan over a low heat.
- Add the bicarbonate of soda to the melted butter mixture, then stir in the flour, oats and sugar.
- Mix together, then tip the mixture out onto a work surface. Press flat with your hands, or use a rolling pin and a little flour for dusting, until it is approx 1cm thick.
- Using a round cutter, cut out the biscuits and place them on the baking tray. Bake for 15 minutes until golden.
