Salmon, cod and spinach purée recipe
Food for babies aged 6-9 months from Annabel Karmel. Makes four portions.
Ingredients
- 1 knob of butter
- 2 leeks, chopped
- 200 g sweet potato, peeled and diced
- 350 g mixed salmon and cod, cubed
- 200 ml water
- 75 g baby spinach
- 100 ml full fat milk
- 50 g mature cheddar cheese, grated

- 3.5 fl oz full fat milk
- 1.8 oz mature cheddar cheese, grated

- 0.8 cup water
- 2.6 oz baby spinach
- 0.4 cup full fat milk

Step-by-step
- Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the leeks and sweet potato and fry for two to three minutes.
- Add the salmon and cod and the water. Bring up to the boil, cover and simmer gently for about 15 minutes until the vegetables are soft and the fish is cooked.
- Add the spinach and stir to wilt.
- Add the milk and cheese, then blend using a hand blender and purée or roughly chop for older babies.
