Who doesn't love a little sugar? We humans are hard-wired to seek out the sweet stuff; the energy we get from carbohydrates (including sugars) fuels much of what we do. And, thanks to our cravings – and the fact that sweet treats are more widely available than ever before – we often consume more sugar than is good for us.
