MasterChef 2015: who should win?
Here's our rundown on the final three. Tell us who you think should win.
So here we are once again at MasterChef final day. Following weeks of gruelling competition we’re down to the final three: Tony, Emma and Simon.
It’s been a great series with lots of really interesting contestants and no ‘blown out of all proportion’ scandal.
Who’s going to walk off with the coveted crown? Let’s take a look at the form of the runners and riders.
Tony Rodd
If this is the culinary equivalent of the Grand National, then 33-year-old mustachioed recruitment consultant Tony is the horse making the late dash up the rails. He started off shakily but has got consistently better and has demonstrated his calm under pressure several times, noticeably in the notoriously difficult Chef’s Table challenge in the penultimate episode.
Emma Spitzer
Travel company MD Emma, 40, has definitely been on the proverbial “journey” in this series and has markedly grown in confidence as the weeks have gone by. Her Middle Eastern-inspired dishes have certainly wowed the judges at time, though Gregg still appears to have reservations.
Simon Wood
‘Mr Consistent’ Simon, 38, is hoping to turn his back on a day job in ‘data’ and forge a new career in cooking. And he’s certainly gone about it the right way with almost a steel focus on serving up good quality plates of food. But has he done enough to wow the judges?
Our verdict
The experts may be saying Simon is the odds-on favourite thanks to his near-faultless displays but we think Tony might pull a surprise or two out of the bag and sneak it.
All three are definitely worthy of a place in the last episode and it’s going to be fascinating to watch the final unfold.
