Do lolly sticks make you LOL?

Knock Knock. Who's there? Cash. Cash-who? No thanks, but I'd love a peanut! Hahaha. ahem. Get your best jokes at the ready, because lolly stick gags are back in fashion.
Cadbury Dairy Milk Ice Cream kicked off the craze by asking the nation to come up with the best lolly stick joke. Entries were made through Twitter (@goldenlollyjoke), because it had to be small enough to fit on a lolly stick.
Frederick’s Dairies, who make and sell the ice cream lollies under licence for Cadbury, plan to launch a whole new range of lolly stick gags (which will premier in 2013) after research found that 66% of British ice cream lickers wanted them back.
The winning gag
More than 2,000 entries came in, and the winner (who pocketed £5,000) was scaffolder Charlie Thomas (@swingitcharlie) from Newcastle, who came up with this corker…
Who’s in charge of the hankies? The hankie-chief!
Speaking of his victory, Charlie said: “As a child, the jokes were as much of a treat as the lolly itself. I entered the competition to share some of my silliest jokes and I’m delighted that I have won!”
Charlie’s gag has been engraved onto the world’s first 18 carat gold lolly stick worth £10,000, which has been slipped into a random Cadbury Dairy Milk Ice Cream lolly for a lucky member of public to find.
