Best supermarket deals

This week we’re going to kick off with the latest meal deal at Marks & Spencer – you get a main, side, dessert and bottle of plonk for £10. New mains include The Grill Lazy Beer Can Half Spatchcock Chicken and Tantalising Teriyaki Chicken Breasts. See the full menu here. Offer ends Tuesday 8th May.

In store at M&S you can save 25% on the Deli range and selected desserts. Plus look out for the Pizza Meal Deal for two for £5.

On to the half-price weekend deals at Lidl. You can buy 400g Manor Vale Mature Cheddar for £1.19, 500g of fresh strawberries for 99p, Jacobs Biscuits for Cheese for 92p and 530g of Combino tomato pasta sauce for 37p.

Other deals include two for £3 on 500g Flora, 300g of cherry vine tomatoes for 79p, an eight-pack of Funsize apples for 69p, 400g packs of diced beef steak for £2.39 and chicken breast mini-roast packs for £2.99.

The big deals at Morrisons this week are McCoys six-packs for £1 (was £1.88), Walkers 22-packs for £1.99 (was £4.38), Robinson’s Squash 1L for £1 (was £1.75), Coca-Cola eight-packs for £1.89 (was £3.98), 800g of Jersey Royals potatoes for £2 (was £4), and Stuffed Pork Shoulder for £2.35 per kg (was £4.70 per kg).

You can also get Young’s Fish Fillet Fingers 20 packs (limited to three per customer!) for 99p (was £3.99), Morrisons Back Bacon for £1 (was £1.49), Richmond Thin Sausages for £1 (was £1.75), 350g of Welsh Mature Cheddar for £1.74 (was £3.49) and two for £3 on Cravendale (usually £1.88 each).

Over at Tesco grab a few jars of Mackays Strawberry Preserve and Seville Orange Marmaladefor a ridiculous 20p each (was £1.99). Or for other breakfast bargains, buy Pitch Brioche Chocolate Chip Brioches for 84p (was £1.69), Activia Pouring Yoghurt for £1 (was £1.98) andKellogg’s Variety Pack for £1 (was £2.09).

Other best buys include Wall's Carte D'Or Chocolate Inspiration Ice Cream 900ml for £1.74 (was £3.49) and Birds Eye Simply Extra Large Fish Fillets in Crispy Batter for £1.49 (was £2.98) in the freezer section, or for some heavy carbs look out for four sesame seeded burger buns for 47p (was 95p), three Tesco Italian Garlic Baguettes for £1 (was £2), four Tesco Homebake Baguettes for £1 (was £1.78) and a pack of eight Old El Paso Soft Flour Tortillas for 84p (was £1.68) – or buy the Old El Paso Fajitas Kit for £1.61 (was £3.22).

If you’re looking for meat, 175g packs of Taste the Difference Responsibly Sourced Large King Prawns are reduced from £5.99 to £2.99, Sainsbury's British Lamb Half Leg Joints are reduced from £10.99/kg to £7.32/kg, Large Crackling Pork Leg Joints are reduced from £6.69/Kg to £4.45/kg), Large Unsmoked Boneless Gammon Joints are reduced from £7.99/kg to £3.99/kg) and Taste the Difference British Free Range Whole Chickens are now only 3.32/kg (was £4.99/kg).

Asda shoppers can treat themselves to McVitie's Milk Chocolate Digestives for £1 (was £1.75),Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough Ice Cream for £2.50 (was £4) and Cadbury BiscBits Chocolate Biscuit Bites Caramel Crisp for £1 (was £1.79).

Or if you’re looking to stock up on fruit and veg, Asda Extra Special tomatoes are two for £2.50 – options include Vine Ripened (usually £1.87 each), Sweet Vine and Mini San Marzano (both usually £1.75 each).

Various veg packs are two for £2 including Baby Tenderheart Cabbage, 150g Baby Carrots,250g of Baby Parsnips and 175g of Baby Leeks (all usually £1.20 each).

Finally, check out the special offers this week from online gourmet butcher Westin Gourmetwhich includes 19% off 2.27kg packs of rindless back bacon, now £10.53, 11% off 5kg packs of chicken breast fillets, now £28.80, and 18% off 6x 10oz British pork chops, now£7.07.

Cheap tipple

As part of the Taste of France promo at Lidl you can buy Normandy Cider for £1.99 each, Crème de Cassis for £6.99, Cotes de Provence Rose for £4.99 and 1 litre bottles of Pastis aperitif for £15.99.

You can also buy the award-winning Putinoff Premium Vodka for £8.49 (50cl), Sambuxo Aniseed Liqueur for £5.49 and Churchwoods cider at only 85p each.
