The winners of the 2015 National Fish & Chip Awards have been revealed.
Frankie’s Fish & Chips in Brae, Scotland, has been named the best chippy in the UK by the 2015 National Fish & Chip Awards. The annual awards are organised by seafood authority Seafish.
Owner Valerie Johnson said that “This is the highlight of my working life. I can’t thank Seafish and my brilliant team enough.”
Frankie’s came first in the Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year category, and also took the prize for the ‘Good Catch’ sustainable seafood award.
Marine Conservation Society Fisheries Officer Samuel Stone was among the judges for the awards, and commented that Frankie’s “sold a very high proportion of sustainable seafood”, as well as promoting the best choices to their customers.
