To mark the end of the Olympics, we've put together some videos of our favourite foodie record breaking attempts.

No. 5 -  The World’s largest falafel

First up, it's the world's largest falafel weighing 74.75kg (164.80 lb), which was made at the Landmark Hotel in Amman, Jordan in July 2012, beating the previous record on 23.94 kg (52. 8 lb), set in California.

10 chefs came together to prepare the dish, which consisted of 80kg of chickpeas, 5kg of onions and 2kg fresh parsley. It was deep fried for 25 minutes in 350 litres of vegetable oil, and after scooping the awards, was fed to 600 hotel guests. You can read more here.

World record official Annabel Lawady paid tribute to the record after announcing the results, saying: 'This is a great achievement and a difficult record to beat for years to come.”

Landmark hotel manager Aysar Batayneh noted, "As a local hotel proud of its Jordanian roots, the Landmark Amman wanted to mark this special time of year by doing something truly extraordinary and bringing the falafel record to Jordan."
