Michel Roux Jr and his uncle Michel Roux talk to lovefood about family, food and feuds in their new TV show, The Roux Legacy.

Roux history

One family is synonymous with bringing French cooking, skill and professionalism to Britain – The Roux dynasty. For the first time, Albert Roux, Michel Roux, Alain Roux, and Michel Roux Jr, will be working and cooking alongside each other on television, in an exclusive series for the Good Food channel.

Lovefood had the chance to meet with Michel Roux, and his nephew Michel Roux Jr, to talk about food and family, and how food has changed in Britain. We also hear about the love/hate relationship between Albert and Michel, as well as find out about some of the recipes they'll be demonstrating.

The Roux Legacy shows us extraordinary behind the scenes footage of the legendary family members, both in the kitchens of The Waterside Inn in Berkshire, which remains the only UK restaurant to retain three Michelin stars for more than 25 years, and Le Gavroche in London’s Lower Sloane Street.

Introducing Emily

There is now a third generation to the Roux clan. Emily, daughter of Michel Roux Jr, is training to be a chef and makes her TV debut on the show. And as Marcus Wareing says in this taster clip, she has the potential to eclipse them all.

The Roux Legacy begins at 8pm, Sunday 29th January on Good Food (Sky / HD 249, Virgin 260)
