Lovefood's new editor says hello and wants to hear from you
Hello, I’m Andrew Webb the new editor of lovefood.com Let me introduce myself and tell you about the direction I want to take Lovefood.
Out and about
First and foremost, we’re going to make a concerted effort to look at more cities and regions all around the UK. While it’s true that many top chefs, food trends and businesses start in London, there are plenty of wonderful things going on all over Britain. I know this, because prior to joining Lovefood I wrote Food Britannia, the research for which took me right around the country. So expect to see more themes, guides, and visits to your area.
Monday to Sunday
The second thing I want to do, is to have Lovefood closer reflect your weekly routine. So at the start of the week, we’ll be looking at news and gossip, backed up by quick and easy-to-make recipes. Then towards the weekend we’ll focus on longer articles that really get under the skin of particular issues and topics. Most of us also have more time to cook at the weekend, so our recipe choices will reflect this too.
Lights, camera, action!
Other changes I’m planning to make are more videos, interviews and debates; I also want to hear more from you about your cooking, shopping habits, tips and experiences. You can expect to see more on our Facebook page, and our twitter feed will become more active in due course. Finally let's not forget that Christmas is only two months away. It’s probably the most foodie time of the year, when eating, drinking and making merry are the order of the day. We’ll be there for you with the best foodie content, guides, and advice to make sure it goes with a swing.
In time we hope to make lovefood.com the homepage for your foodie adventures online, whether you’re looking to learn new techniques, be entertained, have a debate, or just get a suggestion for what to have for dinner.
Get in touch
So that’s the plan for the coming months. But before I go, I’d like to ask your thoughts. Are there any subjects and topics you think we should look at? Is there something you’d like to see more of? What are we doing well? What stinks? Please let me know in the comments below.
Regards
Andrew
PS. Kudos to the first person to identify the chip shop I'm standing outside!
