What is it? As you may have guessed, it's a marshmallow advent calendar with a little fluffy treat hiding behind each door. The marshmallows are made using natural ingredients and are all cut by hand.

Why we love it? With exciting festive flavours such as candy cane, gingerbread and chocolate orange, this is sure to lure you out of bed on frosty December mornings. Or you could save your marshmallow to go with an evening hot chocolate.

What is it? Yes, you read that right. It's a pork crackling advent calendar, which means 24 days of munching on crispy, crunchy loveliness. The crackling comes in six delicious flavours (think pigs in blankets and maple) and four of them have won Great Taste Awards so you're in for a treat.

Why we love it? It's pork crackling.

Where can I buy it? Available online for £17.50.

3. Sous Chef chilli calendar

Sous Chef

What is it? The contents of this advent calendar are just as great as the packaging. Embark on a spicy adventure with the gentle fruity heat of Indian Kashmiri chilli to the blazing spice of the world's hottest chilli, the Taiwanese Carolina reaper. The calendar comes with 24 sachets of various chillis from around the world as well as a booklet explaining the features of each chilli and suggesting a recipe to make with it.

Why we love it? Chilli-chocolate truffles, Mexican-style breakfast eggs and homemade kung pao chicken all sound like recipes we want to try. On top of that, on Christmas Eve you can surprise everyone with pasilla chilli mince pies.

Where can I buy it? Available online for £35.

4. Tea Revv tea taster calendar

Tea Revv

What is it? Packed in a pretty winter-themed box are 24 unique seasonal loose-leaf tea blends including 'notorious' eggnog, spiced apple pie and mulled wine spice. Each sachet features a festive design and is enough for two cups.

Why we love it? Winter isn't really winter without a steaming cuppa to warm you up, so it's the perfect time of the year to venture beyond English Breakfast and Earl Grey into the unknown land of 'chilly willy chai'.

Where can I buy it? Order online for £20.
