John Whaite

John Whaite is a British Baker, Cook and TV personality. He studied Patisserie at Le Cordon Bleu in London, and has published his first book, John Whaite Bakes: Recipes for Every Day and Every Mood, and is currently writing his second, which will be published by Headline in March 2014. Gaining a first class degree in Law from the University of Manchester after declining a place to study at Oxford University, John decided to hang up the gown and don the apron, a decision spurred on after he won the third series of the BBC’s The Great British Bake Off. Having always had an interest in performance and gaining LAMDA and RADA acting qualifications, John is a natural on stage and enjoys taking part in food shows, book signings and interviews across the country, as well as regular appearances on shows such as ITV’s This Morning, Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and What’s Cooking. He lives in Greenwich with his partner of 5 years, where he holds regular baking classes.
