James Nathan

Former barrister James Nathan shot to stardom in 2008, winning the coveted MasterChef title and has since perfected his skills working in well-known kitchens such as Rick Stein's, Michel Roux JR’s and Michael Caines'. James now heads up one of Cornwall’s newest restaurants, The Green Room, at Retallack Resort and Spa – a luxury five star self-catering resort on the North Cornish coast. Affectionately known as The Surfing Chef, James’ love for being in or on the water dictates his novel ‘surfboard to plate’ approach to ingredient gathering. He loves to cook and experiment with food foraged straight from the Atlantic Ocean, using local, seasonal Cornish ingredients to create an array of impressive dishes from a 7 course-tasting menu to a hearty Sunday Roast.
