Angela Hartnett
Gaining a love of good food from her Italian Grandma, Angela Hartnett began her cooking career at Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados before returning to the UK to work under Gordon Ramsay at his first restaurant, Aubergine - where she helped achieve its first Michelin star. Angela also worked under Ramsey at Zafferano and L'Oranger before joining Marcus Wareing as his sous chef at Petrus. In 2003, Hartnett won the 'Best Newcomer Award' and the Square Meal Guides’ BMW Best New Restaurant award for her two restaurants at The Connaught and in 2004 netted her first Michelin star – the same year that she won legions of fans on ITV’s cooking show, Hell’s Kitchen. In early 2007, Angela was awarded an MBE for Services to the Hospitality Industry and opened Cielo, a Ramsay Group restaurant in Boca Raton. Previously Chef-Patron at Angela Hartnett at The Connaught she is currently Chef-Patron at Murano restaurant and the York & Albany pub in London.
