Bread sauce recipe
For me it wouldn't be Christmas lunch without bread sauce, it's an essential accompaniment and its so easy to make.
Ingredients
- 0.5 Onion
- 1 Clove
- 1 pint Whole Milk
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 125 g Breadcrumbs
- 1 pinch Salt and Pepper

Step-by-step
- Peel and slice an onion in half then stud the clove into it.
- Place into a pan and add a pint of milk.
- Add the bay leaf to the pan.
- Gently warm the milk until it is just about to boil then turn the heat off and leave the flavours to infuse for about half an hour.
- Add the breadcrumbs to the milk and mix well.
- Season with salt and pepper and serve.
