Ginger and garlic pork stir-fry recipe

Soy, garlic and ginger β€“ mixed together with a little honey β€“ is an easy marinade to whip together quickly, making this a perfect mid-week dish. This recipe uses pork, but it would work equally well with chicken.

Step-by-step

  1. Trim any fat from the pork steaks and cut into strips
  2. Make the marinade by stirring together the soy sauce, garlic, ginger and honey in a bowl
  3. Add the pork strips and leave to marinate in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  4. Boil the broccoli florets for 5 minutes, then drain
  5. Chop the red pepper and spring onions
  6. Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan over a very high heat
  7. Once it’s sizzling hot, add the pork and marinade
  8. Move the pork around the pan, and after 2 minutes add the pepper strips, broccoli and spring onions – in that order
  9. Keep stir frying, moving the pork and vegetables around the pan for another 5 minutes
  10. Serve with steamed rice or noodles
