I didn't even know half of these things existed and many do seem to be pointless novelties. As for the rest, I'd have to disagree with a couple of your choices too. The only useless gadget is one that you don't use. You may have no use for the one I use regularly, but I do, which is all that matters.

I. too, have to disagree with a couple of these but not the same ones. I have an electric steamer that I use at least 3 times a week. It makes perfect rice and unlike cooking a pan, turns itself off when the time is up. I have a possible habit of leaving things to burn on the top of the stove as I wander away into another room. I then use the two trays above to steam vegetables like broccoli or mange tout. Another benefit is that if I have all the family round it leaves the top of the stove free for cooking other things. Also I wouldn't be without my apple slicer/corer. It is quicker than using a knife if you have a load of apples to prepare and the slices are nice and even. However you left a "chicken brick" off your list. Remember those? Useless. I always cook roast potatoes around a roasting chicken.

Just have to disagree with 2 items listed ! A zester [number 12] is far superior to using a grater, as the zest falls away whereas in a grater it just gets clogged up and stuck to the back. A breadmaker is beneficial in households where time is at a premium - making bread from scratch is a lengthy procedure and requires the oven to be heated up - fine if you are at home for 3 to 4 hours and are using the oven for other items.
