Are you still looking for that perfect foodie book for Christmas? To keep or to gift? Here are nine tasty books to try.

We think cookbooks are the perfect parcel to go under any Christmas tree.

So here's our pick of nine titles from this year to either buy for the food lover in your life or ask for yourself.

Cook For Syria by Clerkenwell Boy and Serena Guen

Amazon

This is the number one hot release on Amazon, and we can see why. The book focuses on celebrating Syrian food, with family recipes and stories. The Unicef NextGen fundraising campaign book was rush-printed in time for Christmas, and the best part about it is 100% of profits go to children affected by the conflict.

SIMPLE: effortless food, big flavours by Diana Henry

Amazon

Diana is praised for her ability to turn the everyday into something special. The book promises recipes you can throw together with no fuss, but that will wow you with their flavour. The most popular ingredients within the book are those we’d find in our cupboard and fridge (or are easy to pick up on our way home), from Turkish pasta with caramelised onions to parmesan-roasted cauliflower with garlic and thyme.

Nadiya's Kitchen by Nadiya Hussain

Amazon

After winning the hearts of the nation on the Great British Bake Off in 2015, it's no wonder Nadiya's cookbook was a popular release this year. Her book offers a little insight into her favourite recipes and, with chapters that will fit every occasion including 'Lazy Sunday Mornings' and 'Midnight Feasts', you'll find a dish for any time of day. And there are a few twists on traditional classics including: Churros French Toast, Popcorn, white chocolate and peanut slice and last but not least 'Her Majesty's Cake'.

SymmetryBreakfast: Cook-Love-Share by Michael Zee

Amazon

Michael Zee took Instagram by storm early in 2016 with the beautiful symmetrical breakfasts he created for his partner every day. The book pulls inspiration from the beauty of breakfast, and of course the wonders of symmetry. People who love exploring diverse foods, those who get a thrill from hosting family and friends, and those Instasnappers who like to make food look pretty on a plate will all find much to love. But you'll also learn a little more about what breakfast looks like around the world, from New York bagels to Hawaiian Loco Moco.

Toast Hash Roast Mash: Real Food for Every Time of Day by Dan Doherty

Amazon

Back with his second cookbook, Dan invites you to enjoy the recipes he cooks at home for family and friends. The recipes are easy, informal and delicious! They focus around eggs, hash, pancakes, toast, simple sweet bakes and savoury dishes, and are inspired by breakfast and brunch meals that can be eaten all day, like ricotta, pear and honey on toast and Mexican eggs. And with a whole chapter devoted to foods that'll fight your hangover, including the Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich, we think you'll find a few new favourites in there.

Gino's Hidden Italy: How to Cook Like a True Italian by Gino D'Acampo

Amazon

Do you want to know how to cook as well as the Italians do? Follow our favourite adopted Italian chef through Northern and Central Italy, and find out the secrets of real Italian food. Gino celebrates the best seasonal and local ingredients found in Italy (including truffle hunting in Piedmonte!). Using traditional Italian cooking methods, the recipes will bring authentic Italian cuisine to your table.

Lean in 15 - The Sustain Plan: 15 Minute Meals and Workouts to Get You Lean for Life by Joe Wicks
