English breakfast tea is the food Brits miss most abroad
Who doesn’t love a brew in the morning?
In a nation known for its tea drinking, it may come as little surprise that a breakfast brew is the food or drink most missed by Brits on holiday.
A new survey by NFU Mutual found Brits are most fond of traditional dishes, with the most-missed foods including a Sunday roast with gravy (32%), fish and chips (29%) and a full English breakfast (23%).
When it comes to the perfect roast or cuppa, it seems Yorkshire puddings and British milk are key, with both ranking fourth and fifth respectively with 27% and 26%.
But what makes a product ‘most British’ according to interviewees? If the ingredients are grown in Britain (49%), the product is made in Britain (33%), or they have grown up with it (12%).
Darren Seward from NFU Mutual says, “Our survey proves that humble British classics like a Sunday roast are still among our best-loved dishes, and that people love to support British food”.
