Our favourite Halloween-inspired treats to put you in a spook-tacular mood.

Halloween is (almost) here and this macabre celebration isn't complete without something sweet. If you're after something more than a pack of chocolates or jelly snakes, here's our pick of Halloween-inspired snacks to get you into the holiday spirit.

1. The Edible Museum chocolate heart

What is it? Hand crafted by food artist Sarah Hardy, the hyper-realistic chocolates from The Edible Museum are made from high-quality chocolate and finished to look as realistic as possible.

Why we love it? The life-size chocolate human heart is the perfect Halloween present for horror fans. And while you might struggle to take a bite, it's actually a delicious blend of Belgian white, milk and dark chocolate.

Where can I buy it? Available to order online at The Edible Museum for £25.

2. Rubylou's Treat Co Halloween biscuit house

Rubylou's Treat Co.

What is it? Rubylou's Treat Co specialise in delicious handmade baked treats, including these limited-edition Halloween mug hangers (they sit on the rim of your cup).

Why we love it? They're the perfect treat for little monsters (or yourself) on Halloween morning, made from delicious chocolate biscuits and finished with royal icing. It might just be difficult to stop after one.

Where can I buy it? Priced from £5.50, the mug hangers are available online at Rubylou's Treat Co.

3. Little Moons spiced pumpkin pie mochi

Little Moons

What is it? This Japanese treat is created by steaming rice flour to create a chewy pancake-like layer that's wrapped around gelato or ice cream.

Why we love it? This pumpkin pie flavour was created just for Halloween, and we can't resist the cute design.

Where can I buy it? Different flavours are available at Whole Foods (£5.99 for a pack of six), Ocado and Waitrose (£4.99).

4. Bettys marzipan and sponge pumpkins

Bettys

What is it? Handmade by Bettys, these adorable pumpkins are filled with all-butter Genoese sponge and delicious vanilla buttercream, then decorated with marzipan and royal icing.

Why we love it? They're perfect for a sophisticated Halloween, and far too good to give to trick-and-treaters. (They didn't last long in the loveFOOD office.)

Where can I buy it? Have them delivered to your door from Bettys or purchase in store at any of the six branches in Yorkshire. Box of 4 pumpkins is available for £11.80.
