Sparkling citrus punch cocktail recipe

This cocktail recipe was created by Lydia Levine for her book Cosmic Cocktails: A Guide to the Mixology of Astrology.

Lydia says: "Rosemary symbolises loyalty, one of Taurus' greatest strengths in a relationship. This sparkling punch made with a rosemary syrup is perfect for a Taurus sun to share with a loved one."

It's fruity, it's sweet, and the rosemary-infused sugar syrup is pleasing on the nose and palate. We Tauruses love a bit of decadence, so when it comes to fizz, only Champagne will do.   • 120 ml water
  • 120 g sugar
  • 5 sprigs of rosemary
  • 750 ml Champagne
  • 120 ml grapefruit juice
  • 120 ml orange juice
  • 30 ml grenadine
  • 4.2 fl oz water
  • 4.2 oz sugar
  • 5 sprigs of rosemary
  • 26.4 fl oz Champagne
  • 4.2 fl oz grapefruit juice
  • 4.2 fl oz orange juice
  • 1.1 fl oz grenadine
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 4.2 oz sugar
  • 5 sprigs of rosemary
  • 3.2 cups Champagne
  • 0.5 cup grapefruit juice
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 0.1 cup grenadine

Step-by-step

  1. For the syrup, stir together water, sugar and rosemary in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Lower heat and mix until sugar completely dissolves.
  3. Strain and leave to cool.
  4. Combine all the ingredients in a punchbowl.
