Yorkshire puddings recipe

Yorkshire puddings are apparently the most popular regional food in the country which is amazing.  The sad thing is people are just buying them from the freezer in the supermarket. They're so easy to make, they're so delicious, so cool, they go with everything!

Ingredients

  • 1 Goose fat
  • 75 g Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 75 ml Milk
  • 50 ml Water
  • 1 Goose fat
  • 2.6 oz Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 2.6 fl oz Milk
  • 1.8 fl oz Water
  • 1 Goose fat
  • 2.6 oz Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 0.3 cup Milk
  • 0.2 cup Water

Step-by-step

  1. Add a small amount of goose fat into each section of our baking tray
  2. Heat the goose fat for 10-15 minutes in a fan over set at 220°C
  3. Add the egg to the flour and whisk
  4. Slowly add the milk & water t the mixture and continue to whisk until there are no lumps
  5. Pour the batter into the hot fat and cook for 15-20 minutes

    Absolutely - this was originally the food of the poor - frozen are not a patch on the real thing. I have tried using Silicon moulds as these are easier to clean, but I think they don't hold the heat the same as they have often failed to rise, so i have gone back to the metal ones
